(Last Night's Full "Buck/Thunder" Moon)

July's Full Moon is known as the "Buck" or "Thunder" Moon. The "Buck" reference comes from the fact that it coincides with the time of year when a buck’s (deer) antlers are full grown and thunderstorms are frequent.

Also tonight there will be a partial lunar eclipse, however here in New Jersey we won't get much of a show on this one. However if the clouds break we should get a good sight of July's Full Moon and yes I'll be out with the camera, so if I get a view I will share those photos.

According to refinery29.com while much of the world — including most of Australia, Africa, South America, Europe, and Asia — will be able to see the partial lunar eclipse, the majority of North America is out of luck.
