It's a debate between Sue and me, are you a "parkway person" or a "route 9 fan"?

Sue and I are debating which road is a better option, Route 9  or the Garden State Parkway. For me the answer is easy, it's the Garden State Parkway. The parkway is a much better ride and much quicker than using Route 9. I am going to break down the pros and cons of each, but even though the parkway has tolls, the price is easy to pay to avoid the potholes and slow go of Route 9. I would not want to make the commute from Little Egg Harbor to Toms River via Route 9 every day, no way.

So let's take a look at the pros and cons of each roadway and see if you agree or disagree with me......

Garden State Parkway

  • PRO: Faster Moving Traffic
  • PRO: Smooth Ride
  • PRO: Gas and Rest Areas
  • CON: Tolls
  • CON: No direct access to stores and community buildings
  • CON: Deer

Route 9

  • PRO: Direct access to stores and community buildings
  • PRO: Free
  • CON: Potholes & Construction
  • CON: Slower speed limit
  • CON: Traffic
  • CON: Traffic Lights

So what do YOU think do you prefer the Garden State Parkway or Route 9? Post your comments or give us a call at (732) 237-WOBM (9626) we always love to talk to you.
