Hello September [Photos]

Hello September ! Hopefully you had a great Summer, lots of heat and sunshine. This months "Shutterblog" is full of all kinds of Summer sights ..... From Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania to right here at the Jersey Shore.

Here are a few shots from "Longwood Gardens" in Pennsylvania .... If you have never gone make a day trip and see this amazing slice of nature .....

"Pitcher plants" are several different carnivorous plants that have evolved modified leaves known as pitfall traps, a prey-trapping mechanism featuring a deep cavity filled with liquid.

 

Summer was our best season: it was sleeping on the back screened porch in cots, or trying to sleep in the treehouse; summer was everything good to eat; it was a thousand colors in a parched landscape. ~  Harper Lee

The Lilly Pads at Longwood Gardens are amazing!

Some Pueblo Indian Tribes,such as the Hopi, believed that the Roadrunner provided protection against evil spirits. In Mexico, some said it brought babies, as the white stork was said to in Europe. Some Anglo frontier people believed roadrunners led lost people to trails.

 

Spotted this Turkey Vulture in our neighborhood, first time I spotted one perched in a tree!

Spotted this mural painted on a wall at a Starbucks .... I always enjoy their decor with a "coffee" theme ....
