Will Governor Murphy’s New School Funding Law Hurt Schools but Lower Property taxes?
Governor Murphy on Tuesday signed into law a new school funding plan for the Garden State, but will some districts get pinched by the measure? Three of the larger Districts in our area here in Ocean & Monmouth Counties will see budget cuts .. Toms River, Brick and Freehold Regional.
"Administrators in Toms River Regional Schools, a district that serves more than 15,000 students and where the tax base was devastated by superstorm Sandy, will have to shed more than $988,000 in spending plans from the school budget."
