Instead of putting pounds on maybe you'd like to burn some calories and there are some fun "Turkey Trots" for those looking to get out on Thanksgiving Day.

Gobble Wobble 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Drumstick Dash

The Southern Ocean Ladies Running Club holds their Gobble Wobble 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Drumsick Dash at the Stafford Municipal Building on East Bay Avenue in Manahawkin starting at 8 a.m. to benefit Ocean County CASA and Stafford’s DARE program. Avon Pond Turkey Trot

The 3rd annual Avon Pond Turkey Trot takes place on the boardwalk in Avon By The Sea starting at the badge hut at 8:30 a.m. All of the proceeds of the event go to fund the operating costs of the Avon Pond, an outdoor ice skating facility located in Volunteer Park maintained by volunteers and receives no public funding.
