It's another addition of "Daytripping with Shawn Michaels" and we continue our series "Hiking New Jersey". This time we are in Ocean County at Wells Mills County Park in Waretown. This park is easy to access right off the Garden State Parkway at Exit 69 in Waretown. This park has something for the whole family and lots of people love to go. Whether you wanna jog, hike or bike ride ... you can do it all at Wells Mills. Bird watchers and photographers also love this park and the beautiful lake. Visitors can also check out the Nature Center including the 3rd floor "Elizabeth Meirs Morgan Observation Deck" which was dedicated in honor of a very active naturalist and conservationist right here in Ocean County.

I enjoyed the trails they are clearly marked and at times challenging with sugar sand and sporadic inclines. The areas that trek through bog areas are raised with walking platforms, which will keep you moving and dry! We did the 'Green" trail which is 3.5 miles. There is also a longer 8.4 mile trail and some shorter ones as well.....something for everyone.

Have you ever hiked and/or visited beautiful Wells Mills County Park ?
