The Jersey Shore Ospreys – Our Seahawk [VIDEO]

It is our best fisherman, the Osprey ..... the hawk of the sea! You'll see them up and down the Jersey Shore coast. This is my favorite bird to photograph and I'm lucky to live in an area with many to view. Just this past Friday at our Community Medical Center Seaside Park Boardwalk Studio we watched an Osprey fishing in the surf and bringing home fresh fish to their babies.

The Osprey is known as the Sea hawk, River hawk and Fish hawk.

The Osprey can survive in a wide variety of habitats, nesting in any spots near a body of water the provide an adequate food supply. It is found on all continents except Antarctica, although in South America it occurs only as a non-breeding migrant.
