A controversial plan to build a Wawa in one of the busiest areas of Brick has finally been approved, and it wasn't without some drama.

It's not being called a suicide attempt but police say the woman who leapt from the Route 88 bridge Friday night that covers the Point Pleasant Canal is recovering following a rescue effort.

A Brick Township man was taken to the hospital after a serious accident in Lakewood Friday afternoon.
