Drunk Brick woman stabs a man multiple times in unprovoked attack
A Brick woman is facing charges for allegedly stabbing a man multiple times while "extremely intoxicated" in an unprovoked attack outside the Arrowhead Bar on Route 88 around 9:50 pm on August 10.
Police say 47-year old Dana P. Manual approached the 33-year old victim in the parking lot and started yelling at him.
Why is not clear. The victim told police he didn't even know who this woman was.
Manual then gave the victim a chest bump and stabbed him in the abdomen.
He tackled her to the ground to try and stop her but after they both got back up she stabbed him in the left arm.
The victim and a by-stander tackled Manual to the ground a second time and were able to finally disarm her.
She got back up but this time hopped in her car and drove off.
Patrol officers arrived on the scene and began an investigation by interviewing the victim and witnesses.
The victim was treated for his injuries by a Brick Patrolman, the first responding officer, Brick Township Police E.M.S. and M.O.N.O.C. Paramedics.
He was transported to Jersey Shore University Hospital where he was evaluated and treated for his injuries.
A description of the suspect vehicle was provided to officers through a B.O.L.O.
The vehicle was spotted traveling east on Mantoloking Road.
A motor vehicle stop on the suspect vehicle was done and Manual was seen driving it.
Police say her clothing and skin was covered in what appeared to be dried blood.
When questioned, Manual admitted to being involved in a fight at the Arrowhead Bar, but said that she was the victim.
Manual allegedly refused to cooperate with officer's request to perform field sobriety tests and was arrested for a D.U.I.
She was transported to Brick Hospital to be evaluated for any injuries she may have received in the fight, which police say was difficult to see due to the dried blood.
After being released from the hospital, Manual was transported to Brick Police Headquarters where she was processed.
Manual was lodged in the Ocean County Jail after being charged with 2nd degree aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, 3rd degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, 3rd degree terroristic threats, 4th degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and numerous motor vehicle violations including: D.U.I., careless driving, reckless driving, driving while suspended, improper passing, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to wear a seatbelt.
