Driver Hospitalized in Lakewood Crash

A Brick Township man was taken to the hospital after a serious accident in Lakewood Friday afternoon.

Police say Marc Campofiori, 19, was attempting to make a left turn off of Route 88 when his car was struck by a flatbed tow truck. The crash caused serious damage to the driver's side door, forcing emergency crews to extricate Campofiori from the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries and remains in stable condition.

Route 88 was closed between New Hampshire Avenue and Cedarbridge Road for several hours.
