I drive Route 88 in Brick a number of times a week. For years I've seen a big food truck parked on the side of the highway. And almost every time there are cars stopped to get lunch.

I'd never stopped at Pattie's Franks, so I decided it was time to do some investigating.

I pulled off the road and chatted with Pattie herself.

She told me that she's had the truck for 8 years and it's staked its claim along Route 88 in Brick for the past 5. She proudly told me that her hotdogs and hot onions are known from the Shore to Newark, and people come from all over the state to partake.

As you travel throughout the area, you'll come across a lot of food trucks. If you're out along the Toms River across from Huddy Park, you can get lunch and an Italian ice, there's the famous Empanada Guy set up in the parking lot of the Ocean Ice Palace, and there's a food truck in the parking lot at Batsto Village that made one of the most ridiculous chili cheese dogs I've ever eaten.

How about some others? Where is your favorite food truck in the area? Comment below and let us in on the good food!
