WalletHub has come out with their "2019 Best & Worst School Systems in America" and it's perfect timing as kids are getting set to go back to school.

The good news out of this report, according to an article from northjersey.com, is that the Garden State scored really well and finished 2nd in the nation! That's very good news for students and parents. Massachusetts ranked first.

Here is a breakdown and how Jersey ranked:

  • 2nd – Lowest dropout rate
  • 3rd – Math test scores
  • 3rd – Reading test scores
  • 4th – Median ACT score
  • 11th – Percentage of threatened/injured high school students
  • 14th – Percentage of Licensed/Certified public K–12 teachers
