Summer Starts This Thursday, June 20th

Even though we consider the unofficial kickoff to summer here at the Jersey Shore on Memorial Day Weekend, the "official" start to summer 2024 is coming up this week. Officially summer arrives Thursday, June 20th at 4:50 pm. So it's time to get hot here at the Jersey Shore.

How Hot Will It Get This Week In New Jersey?

 

Summer is arriving this week and so is some really hot weather. How hot will it get this week in New Jersey? According to Patch, "New Jersey is gearing up for its first heat wave of the year. A heat wave is defined in the northeast as at least three days with a high temperature of at least 90 degrees Fahrenheit. And according to forecasters, temperatures will often exceed that in most of the state."

 

 

The Extended Forecast For New Jersey This Week

 

Tuesday: Sunny, High 88

Wednesday: Sunny, High 89

Thursday: Partly Sunny, High 92

Friday: Partly Sunny, High 90

Saturday: Partly Sunny, High 90

Sunday: Cloudy, High 93

 

So as you can see it looks like the later part of the week is when we will have 4 days of 90 plus weather. Sunday looks to be the hottest day of the week with highs near 93 degrees. We look to see a break in the temperatures next week, with highs of around 80 next Monday and Tuesday.

 

This week will be a hot one be sure to keep an eye on your pets, children, and the elderly. Lots of liquids and sunscreen because it will be a scorcher.
