Christmas Tree Lighting Saturday in New Egypt

Christmas arrives in Plumstead Township this weekend. The holiday season officially kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 7 with the township’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. in front of the Township Municipal Building at 121 Evergreen Rd.

Come out and enjoy the festivities in New Egypt this Saturday with Santa Claus himself who will arrive to help light up the tree courtesy of the New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company. Santa will arrive on a bright red firetruck. Parents should bring a camera along for some free pictures of your child with Santa. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

In addition this is a cool idea .... residents are encouraged to bring your own ornament to help trim the tree.

Non-perishable food items for the annual school food drive will be collected and Pop Warner members will sing Christmas carols during the tree ceremony
