Family members and friends attended their swearing-in at the Municipal Complex on December 9.

Greenwood had been a Class Two officer in Point Pleasant, where he spent his youth. He holds a BA in history from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. Greenwood graduated in the 31st class at the Ocean County Police Academy in Waretown.

McPartlin is a Freehold native who spent his youth in Lakehurst, where he also served as a Class Two officer. He owns a BA in criminal justice from Richard Stockton College in Galloway and graduated in the 32nd class at the Ocean County Police Academy.

The ceremony was marked, as are all similar ones in the township, by a moment of silence for Officer Robert Tobias, the Manchester patrolman who was killed in the line of duty.
