Rivera-Darley had only been her home health aide since late November. After taking the report the case was assigned to Det. Craig Beaulieu of the department's investigations Bureau. Detective Beaulieu checked the regional data pawn sharing system and found that Rivera-Darley had made transactions during the time she was employed at the victim's residence.

In total, 25 pieces of jewelry were found to have been sold by Rivera-Darley. Almost all of the items were recovered.

Detective Beaulieu will be working with the Division of Consumer Affairs to potentially identify other victims.
