Toms River Hero Shares His Story

A Toms River native who was awarded one of the Navy's highest honors shared his heroic story with WOBM.

It was a very close call for two people aboard a small airplane who executed an emergency landing in the skies over Berkeley Township late this morning.

Dispatchers at Ocean County Emergency Management say they fielded a 911 call at about 10:50 AM indicating that the craft was low on fuel, about 10 miles short of Robert J. Miller Airpark.
