Together, we can make a difference in preventing bullying. Adults who take swift and consistent action against bullying send a powerful message that it will not be tolerated. Research has shown that this approach has the potential to effectively reduce bullying over time.

Parents, school staff, and community members all play vital roles in helping children prevent bullying. By openly addressing the issue, creating a safe and supportive school environment, and implementing a comprehensive bullying prevention strategy, we can work together to make our communities free from bullying.

Let's unite against bullying and create a world of kindness, respect, and empathy.

We are proudly supported by Dwyer Services here to protect our community's Health, Safety & Comfort through every Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electrical call. Every day, on every call, for every family.

Parents and Kids / Talk

Hi! It's Shawn. Bullying is one of the most challenging issues affecting our youth. In the upcoming weeks at WOBM, in collaboration with DWYER Services, we will share tips for parents and kids.

Parents, try to find 15 minutes a day of one-on-one time to connect with your child. Really listen to them without judgment. They need to feel heard.

And kids, if you have experienced bullying, tell an adult, even if it is hard. You may be afraid or ashamed to tell what happened or what you did. Take the first step and be a part of the solution.

Parents and Kids / Activities

Hi! It's Sue. Bullying is one of the most challenging issues that impacts our youth. In the upcoming weeks, we at WOBM, along with DWYER Services, will be sharing tips for parents and kids.

Parents, encourage your child to get involved in school activities that build friendships and confidence. Being part of a group or team can help protect kids from bullying.

And kids, when you're talking to an adult about bullying, tell them what you want from them – you may want them to just listen or help you figure out what to do next.

Parents and Kids / Role Models

Hello there! This is Shawn and Sue. We want to address the serious issue of bullying, which greatly impacts the lives of our youth. In the coming weeks, both WOBM and DWYER Services will be sharing valuable tips for parents and children.

Parents should be positive role models for demonstrating kindness and respect towards others. Children observe and imitate their parents' behaviors when managing stress and conflict.

And kids, it's important to stand up for others. When a bystander intervenes and receives defense and support from their peers, the bullying ceases within 10 seconds, 57% of the time.

Kids Don't Ask for Help

Hi, Michelle Heart here. It's hard to come across a parent in New Jersey who hasn't been affected by bullying. Over the next few weeks, we at WOBM will share the warning signs of bullying to help parents stay informed and proactive..

Many kids refrain from discussing bullying or seeking help due to potential humiliation, fear of retaliation, exclusion from their social circle, or being labeled as weak. It is crucial to assure them that opening up and seeking support is perfectly acceptable.

Not Eating

Hi, this is Jessica Williams. Here at 92.7 WOBM, we are committed to helping stop bullying by helping parents identify when their child may be impacted by bullying.

Changes in eating habits, such as skipping meals, binging, or being very hungry because they are not eating lunch, could be signs that something is not right.

Hi, this is Sam Elliot. Here at WOBM, we are committed to helping stop bullying. In the next few weeks, we will be sharing warning signs of bullying or other issues such as depression or substance abuse.
