A Law Is Proposed to Limit Thanksgiving Shopping Hours [Poll]
As Black Friday shopping has become more and more of a competition, some stores are expanding their hours into Thanksgiving Day itself. If some New Jersey lawmakers have their way, the Garden State will limit Thanksgiving Day shopping.
Of course, one of the problems with stores being open right in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner is the fact that it means that someone has to work during those hours.
So State Senator Richard Codey is planning to introduce legislation that would make it illegal to open stores before 9pm on Thanksgiving Day.
Some states already have laws making it illegal for shopping centers to open before midnight on Thanksgiving, so the law wouldn't be without precedent.
