Who Cares About Hair? [Opinion]
Gabby Douglas is an Olympic champion. Not only did she keep the golden streak in the US women's hands for a 3rd Olympics in a row, but she became the first African-American woman to win the biggest gymnastics prize in the world. But some online are focusing on something more trivial...her hair.
Tons of messages popped up on Twitter yesterday after the American's nail biting triumph criticizing her locks.
"Gabby Douglas gotta do something with this hair! These clips and this brown gel residue aint it"
"In Olympic news, why hasn't anyone tried to fix Gabby Douglas' hair?"
Seriously? That's what people are focusing on? The 16 year old just became the best female gymnast in the world and made history at the same time. And people are worried about her hair? She could have gone out there with a blue mohawk for all I care. Her performance was graceful and joyous.
To paraphrase another Internet "troll" incident, leave Gabby alone!
