As we get further into September and into autumn, the leaves will start to change and newscasters will start talking about the annual "leaf peepers". One of the most obnoxious phrases out there, if you ask me.

There are a bunch of terms that I think have become overused and corny. Most of the time people think they're being cute, but it can come off as overused, confusing, or even a little awkward.

Here are a few of the ones that annoy me the most:

"Turkey Day" - it's Thanksgiving. We know you'll eat turkey, it doesn't have to be specified.

"Baby bump" - a favorite of tabloids pointing out celebrity pregnancies. To me, this one borders on a little creepy and awkward. Which brings me to:

"Snogging" - When I hear this, it almost makes kissing sound like a violent act instead of a loving one.

"For all intensive purposes" - I hate to be the one to break this news, but that's not even a real saying.
