It is Veteran's Day (November 11th) and as we take time to remember the men and women of our armed forces, it is a much different Veteran's Day with many observances cancelled or re-defined due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The annual Veteran's Day Parade in Toms River, which I have attended for many years, is cancelled this year....however there will be a memorial service today in Toms River.

The 2020 Ocean County Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Protectors of Freedom sculpture (Pictured Above), located in Bey Lea Park, 570 Bay Avenue in Toms River.

Today's service in Toms River at 10:30 am

The public will be allowed to attend but attendees will be required to wear face mask  and maintain proper social distancing.

This will be the first Veteran’s Day since my Dad died this past summer. He was always telling stories of his time in the military. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. We still have a lot of his photos and things from his time in the service. We thank all the listeners and their family who have served.
