Those Second Grade Tests

For the first 5 years I had a Mommy Blog about my daughter Abby's life and what it was like for me as a first time Mommy.  Well now she's a  7 year old Diva and I've decided to bring back the Mommy Blog.  Her life and what she does is just so funny, it's too funny not to talk about or write about!  It's time to share our adventures with you again.

Abby's in the Second Grade now and she seems to love it.  I'm so happy because her teacher Mrs. Letizia is a big fan of them reading.  And believe it or not Abby is reading more then she ever has.  She was never a reader, except when we would read together.  Now she'll take her book to her reading chair and read.  It's awesome!  "Reading is cool", she'll say.

So let's talk about those tests she has to take.  They're rather long tests, surprisingly and a lot of reading and comprehension.  Comprehension has always been tough for me, too.  But this one test she totally failed about 2 weeks ago.  Out of 100 she got a 47 which is failing.  So I say to her, "What the heck happened"?  Usually she does pretty well.  She looks at me, with that cute face and says, "Ethan's shoes were distracting me."  I was like, "What"?  "Ethan's sneakers were really cool, they were high tops and I was just distracted because I loved them".  What do you say to that?  I just looked at her and said, "OK, try not to look at them anymore, especially when you're taking a test".  She said, "Good Idea".  I love how Abs thinks.  She so funny and smart.  She knows right how to get to my heart...I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but for now, I'm OK with that.

Ever since that test, no more looking at the high tops!
