I don't like clowns at all, but the Circus Drive-In Sign still stands tall today, with so many memories popping in my head as I drive by on a cloudy day in New Jersey, it still puts a smile on my face.

I remember the petition in 2016 with thousands of signature to keep the Circus Drive-In. I signed it. It ultimately closed and now the only thing remaining is the sign.

The memories of my family visiting me when I lived in Monmouth County years ago. My Dad ordering the Circus's famous burger and my Mom saying to my Dad, this reminds me of our dating days. I loved the Circus Drive-In every time I went there. I always thought their fries were the best around.

The Circus Drive-In was built in 1954 and was a Jersey Shore Landmark. If you never were lucky enough to share the memories at the Drive-In, it truly was so much fun. What are the memories you remember from The Circus Drive-In? Since several of my family members have passed on, driving by this spot we loved so much, put a tear in my eye today. Not sure why it hit me the way I did, but I wanted to share that feeling. That feeling when you drive by something that shaped our lives and we'll remember forever, that's The Circus Drive-In for me.

The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
