This is something I always thought about. What if I'm kayaking down the creek and I get stuck or need help, how can the police find me?

This will help so much. So many of my friends love the creek, especially for kayaking. This is so cool, an Eagle Scout and his project thought of this great idea. For creek goers this will help in case you're in trouble of any kind. His name is Griffin Petry and his Troop 9503 installed signs throughout the creek's length letting kayaks, canoes, tubers, or swimmers where they are, according jerseyshoreonline.com. Each sign has a number and a different color so you know where you're at.

Interesting enough Griffin tried to do this when he was in boy scouts several years ago, but it never happened. Good for you Griffin, this is awesome for us creek goers.

There are several local business that helped with making the signs. Berkeley municipal sign shop provided materials and Jersey Rents donated sign post drivers. Also, Forked River Outdoor Group donated the use of kayaks to place the signs along the creek. The makers are helping people already.

Cedar Creek brings so much enjoyment to Berkeley Township residents and surrounding areas, this just helps so much. I remember when Abby went to Berkeley Recreation Summer Camp and one day a week they would go to the creek. She was always so excited. It's a great way to cool down on a hot summer day.

How about a canoeing or kayaking trip down the creek and play spot the signs, it could be fun. Look for the colors and the numbers. First one to spot all the signs get a prize.
