
WOW, Remember These Beloved Ocean County, NJ Places?
Ocean County, New Jersey has a way of holding onto your heart. Between the salt air, the small towns, and those familiar landmarks, this place is more than beaches, it’s home.

And for so many of us, the stores and restaurants that have closed over the years are tied to some of our best memories.
I asked on Facebook what you miss most, and the responses poured in, from Toms River to Manahawkin to Point Pleasant. It turns out we’re all a little nostalgic for the same lost gems.
The Places You Told Us You Miss
It’s not just an Ocean County thing either. Across the Garden State, favorite spots have disappeared, replaced by new neighborhoods, more houses, a few hurricanes, and a whole lot of change.
My Ground Round Memories
One place that will always be “so special” to me was the Ground Round. My mom and dad absolutely loved it there. I can still picture the peanuts on the table and my parents asking, “Want to go to the Ground Round tonight?” Those family dinners are some of the memories I treasure most.
WOW…Remember Funtown Pier?
A lot of you mentioned Funtown Pier in Seaside Park, too. WOW, that pier was everything. Rides, arcades, boardwalk food, flashing lights, summer nights.
Whether you were a local kid or visiting for vacation, it felt like the center of the universe. Even visitors who only came once a year still talk about how much they miss it.
The Memories Are Still Ours
Living here means sharing our towns with summer crowds, and those visitors became part of the story. But the places we loved, diners, shops, little restaurants, were where the real life happened. First dates, after-game meals, birthdays, or just piling the whole family into a booth.
