Set your alarm for 5:24PM and plan to celebrate.  Not the kind that comes with a champagne toast but maybe one where you just clench your first look to the sky and say “thank you I made it through another winter.”

Yes the spring equinox happens today and while you won’t notice anything different it’s more about the feeling of knowing that better times in terms of weather are ahead.  While we had an incredibly mild winter spring is still very much a welcome sight.  Before you know it grass will green, flowers will bloom, trees will be filled with leaves and temperatures will rise.

That’s not to say it’s time to pull out shorts and sandals because we know the next few weeks will have plenty of days that are cold and dreary but we are clearly heading in the right direction and before long the 60’s and 70’s will replace the 30’s and 40’s.

Easter is right around the corner when bright colors dot the landscape and as days get longer so does our desire to spend more and more time outside, even if it’s just to take a ride and enjoy ice cream after dinner.

Today’s milestone is more about your frame of mind knowing that the cold and darkness is about to be replaced by warmth and light and maybe just maybe better times.  Spring means possibilities are endless and stealing a quote, “spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on. Life will get warmer.”
