It's a question that has been debated for years and let me clarify I'm not lobbying for or against different trick or treat rules for Toms River, but I am curious to get listener input and where their minds are here in 2019.

Toms River and surrounding communities (South Toms River, Beachwood and Pine Beach) trick or treat on October 30th, the day before Halloween. They do this because the annual Toms River Halloween Parade is on Halloween October 31st.

Now the only solution is to move the Parade to the Saturday before Halloween and trick or treating takes place Halloween on the 31st. There are many reason for or against this idea.

Want to commend Toms River Fire Company #1 for years of great parades, they do an awesome job it's the 2nd largest Halloween parade in the world! This is my 24th year in the Toms River Halloween Parade and it's an honor to be a part of this tradition here in Ocean County.
