Shots Fired into Lakewood Home

Gunshots shatter the still night air in a quiet Lakewood neighborhood. Township police are poring over evidence and canvassing for information that can lead them to the suspect.

Investigators responded to a call from a home on Jessica Court aound 2:50 AM today. Details so far are sketchy.

People living inside told police that someone fired off several rounds into their house while they slept. No one was injured, according to Lakewood PD Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith.

Th Lakewood Police Street Crimes Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff's Criminal Investigations team collected items of evidence and the probe is ongoing.
