Jersey Shore: Do You Like The Idea of the “Handgun” Smartphone? [PUBLIC OPINION]
A company has come up with what they are calling the "Handgun" Smartphone. Minnesota-based Ideal Conceal, has described the product as a double-barreled Derringer-style handgun that can fire two .380-caliber rounds. When folded up, it looks like a smartphone, however a click of the safety releases the grip "and you're ready to go". According to the company, "this product is a defensive weapon designed with the utmost safety in mind".
However Jersey Shore law enforcement officials feel the new invention is not a good idea. In a recent "Patch" article, Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and a retired New Jersey State Trooper, said the firearm poses significant hazards for law enforcement. "It takes concealment to a whole new level," Della Fave said Monday, after posting about the firearm on the prosecutor's office's Facebook page. "If someone wants to do you harm, it's easy for them to hide it." Della Fave added that this product has taken it to a whole other level.
I am in favor of citizens legally owning firearms, but I think this "concealed" weapon is NOT a good idea.
So what do you think? Is this a GOOD or BAD invention?
Always check your State and local concealment laws.
