When America's 3rd Legoland Park opens, it'll be a great destination for local families here at the Jersey Shore

The Goshen, New York park and hotel will be just a short drive from the Shore, right around 2 hours depending on what part of the Shore you're starting off in.

Legoland New York was originally supposed to open this past summer, but then, well, that whole COVID thing happened.

While Legoland officials aren't ready to announce a new opening date just yet, expected to be some time in 2021, they are offering a number of updates.

Upstate New York news site NewYorkUpstate.com reports that the biggest work is done, including all of the main buildings and the park's 250-room hotel, and finishing touches are being put on building interiors as well as local road work to accommodate the expected influx of traffic.

One of the unknowns at the moment though, is when the park will be allowed to open by New York state regulators, but the report suggests that spring or summer 2021 could be a realistic window.

In the meantime, Legoland New York, which will be the largest of the 8 Legoland parks scattered around the world, has been filling their social media feeds with photos of buildings, rides, and of course plenty of eye-popping LEGO displays.

It definitely looks like Upstate New York's Legoland will be a really cool family weekend trip if you want to slip away for a fun weekend without having to hop on a plane or struggling to keep the kids entertained during a longer road trip.
