Good-Bye Second Grade-Sue’s Mommy Blog

For the first five years I had a Mommy Blog about my daughter Abby’s life and what it was like for me as a first time Mommy.  Now she’s an 8-year-old diva and I’ve decided to bring back the Mommy blog. Her life and what she does is just so funny, it’s too funny not to talk about or write about!  It’s time to share our adventures with you again.  Wow, I can't believe she's 8 already.  Time flies.  

Can you believe it?

Abs is getting ready to say good-bye to second grade.

I just can't believe how fast life goes by and kids grow up.  Yesterday I took the day off to have breakfast with her and walk her to school.

With my early-morning show hours, I miss that, waking up with her and taking her to school.  But I'm fortunate enough to be with her after school.

As we were eating our Fruit Loops yesterday together, I couldn't help but think back to when she was sitting with me in her highchair eating that very same cereal.

That same sparkle is in her eyes as when she was a baby, but now, there is lip gloss on her lips and she missed a little because it was on her cheek. (The best messed up lip gloss I've ever seen.)

She looked at me and said, "I like this Mom," as we sat at the table together.  I thought to myself "what happened to Mommy?! All of a sudden I'm Mom!"  I guess it's almost a third Grade thing!
