Ocean County College’s Southern Education Center (SEC) will be holding Operation Christmas Card: Holiday Mail for Our Military Heroes.  Stop by and sign a holiday card to veterans and active-duty service members both in hospitals and locations around the world.  These cards and personal messages will provide a welcome “touch of home” for our troops during the holiday season.  Cards will be distributed by the American Red Cross.  The holiday card collection is sponsored by OCC’s Writing Center and SEC’s Student Activities.  The community is encouraged to participate. Interested individuals can drop in at the Southern Education Center (Conference Room 109), 195 Cedar Bridge Road, Manahawkin, and sign a card or write a letter of thanks to a service member.  Drop-in hours are: November 18-21 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and November 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Donations of holiday cards would be greatly appreciated! Seaside Park Police PBA #182 is collecting unwrapped toys for their annual Toy Drive to benefit the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, Ocean County north and south offices, through Friday, December 20. Donations may be dropped off in the lobby of the Seaside Park Police Department at 1 Municipal Plaza or at the Borough Offices located at 1701 North Ocean Avenue.
