Don't be this guy:

It's a topic that comes up every year.

The reason that it's a topic that comes up every year is because people don't seem to be getting the message.

If you didn't guess from the photo above, I'm talking about brushing the snow off of our cars.

That's brushing the snow completely off of our cars.

If I had a dollar for every car that I've passed on the Garden State Parkway that had the snow just brushed off of the driver's side window, I'd have a lot of dollars.

In New Jersey, brushing the snow off of your car isn't just courtesy, it's the law.

The reason that it's a big deal isn't just because the blowing snow is really annoying for anyone behind the snow covered vehicle in question, but more importantly, if a big chunk of snow or ice were to blow off at 65 miles an hour, that could be a very bad thing.

And a very expensive thing, too. If snow or ice from your car causes an accident, it could cost you up to $1,000.

With an expected hit of winter weather expected for Wednesday, don't forget to go prepared, and take those extra few minutes to avoid a ticket at the least and a tragedy at the worst.
