TOMS RIVER - Toms River Police are searching for the man who grabbed a 71-year-old woman's purse while driving a vehicle past her, dragging her 40 feet. It happened yesterday around 4 p.m. in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Route 37. The victim was treated by the Silverton First Aid Squad for cuts to her arms, knees and a head injury. The purse contained about $50 and credit cards. The suspect is in his 30s with short brown hair. Anyone with information should call 732-349-0150.

BRICK - Brick Township continues to work towards their goal of green energy with a solar farm. Reports say the Council may award a redevelopment contract at tonight's meeting for the work on French's Landfill. Once built, the farm along with panels already installed on the roof of town hall should cover all of the municipal government's electric bills.

LAKEWOOD - Police in Lakewood continue their search for the driver that struck and killed a 12-year-old boy and fled the scene. 12-year-old Edward Juarez died Friday when he was struck just blocks from his home near the entrance to Lake Shenandoah County Park. Anyone with information should call the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office at 732-929-2027.

LAKEHURST - A Lakehurst man is dead after his vehicle overturned in Mansfield. Police say 55-year-old Michael Peck was killed Saturday night in the single vehicle crash on Florence Road. A full investigation is underway.
