So we are just a few days away from the "unofficial" start of Summer 2014 and something dawned on me .... the sounds. One of the most relaxing parts of Summer to me is the sounds .... those distant noises that help to relax us and in some cases ...

Graveyards throughout Ocean County gleam with red, white and blue this weekend - a token to honor the men and women who lived here and carried America's colors into battle after battle.

Last week we told you about how you can keep an eye on the work going on at the Seaside Heights boardwalk, and today we have great news to pass along to you.

Where were you 6 months ago? At this point of the afternoon, many of us were preparing, wondering and anxious.

Well, we've made it, it's Memorial Day Weekend. Some of us will be getting the heck out of town and some of us will stick it out. In my time living here at the shore, I've noticed a few sure-fire ways to tell that Summer has undoubtedly arrived (officially or not!):

It's just about that time...Memorial Day Weekend at the Jersey Shore. Do those words get you excited for summer or make you shudder with terror?

It's hard to believe the summer season is just around the corner.  The long holiday weekend kicks off the start of the tourism season at the Jersey Shore.  The hotels and motels will be booked up, the beaches will be jam-packed and the pools will be filled with people enjoying a splash.  But it's also Memorial Day weekend and it's more than just a day off from work, a barbecue and a ball game.
