It was recently revealed that the folks behind 'American Idol' were planning to wipe their entire judges table clean and start anew admist plummeting ratings. But with the series at a personal all-time low, could a past 'Idol' standout reinvigorate it? It's been revealed that former contestant and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson has signed on as judge for the next season.

Tonight's the finale..already...for the 12th Season of American Idol on Fox at 8pm.

Take a good look at those judges, if "sources" are correct, you won't see any of them on American Idol's next season.

'American Idol' used to be the hottest show on television, but after 13 years, it's starting to show its age. The show's ratings have slipped from regularly having 30 million viewers to now somewhere around 11 million. It's been an exciting year on "American Idol."

I've always enjoyed shows that bring the viewer behind the scenes of worlds we rarely get to see. I thought that Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, a dramedy about the inner workings of a Saturday Night Live type show, was too short lived, only lasting one season.

As we were among the first to report late Tuesday night, an unexpected scandal hit American Idol. If you avoided the spoilers in advance, you certainly know by now that the subject of the kerfuffle was "The Gentle Giant", Jermaine Jones. And it was all shown on last night's broadcast.
