Petty Thefts Spring Up in Lakewood

Thefts and burglaries in different sections of Lakewood Monday have police on the prowl for suspects.

Authorities say landscaper Alan Siesel of Cedar Row reported the disappearance of a Husqvarna 125B leaf blower from his trailer at about 8:26 AM.

He estimates the value at about $200.

Just after 3 PM the same day, Maria Ochoa of the Golfview Condominium Complex reported a burglary in her dwelling, telling police that someone made off with a black Nintendo Wii.

Whoever pilfered the game box left the accessories behind.

She told investigators that a first-floor window was the entry point to her unit near Joe Parker Road between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM.

Members of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office were called in to collect evidence.

Lakewood police ask anyone who might have witnessed unusual activity that could lead to arrests to call them at 732-363-0200.
