Take a walk through any Ocean County park that allows fishing and you're sure to see signs of casts gone bad, with fishing lines tangled in tree branches and worse, sometimes just left in a pile on the ground.

But a local Eagle Scout is working on solving the problem with a clever but simple solution - fishing line recycling stations.

On their official Facebook page, Ocean County Parks & Recreation shared the story of 16-year-old Casey Shepherd and his Eagle Scout project:

You can see Casey's work at Lake Fishigan in Ocean County Park and Lake Shenandoah County Park, where a total of a dozen fishing line recycling stations are planned.

Great job, Casey!
