This is sad news. Are we losing our Christmas Tree Shop Stores? I always liked walking through Christmas Tree Shop Stores and just looking at all the unique holiday decorations and things that they always have on hand. It was more than just Christmas, it was a place to get decor for St. Patrick's Day, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, New Year, Hanukkah, 4th of July, and more. You name it they had a decoration for it.

According to reports, it looks like we may lose our Christmas Tree Shop Stores not only here in New Jersey, but ALL of their locations. This would definitely be sad news for millions who enjoy shopping at this unique store.

According to NPR, "The Massachusetts-based staple Christmas Tree Shops plans to liquidate all of its stores. The retail chain, known for selling home goods like bedding sets, dinnerware and party decorations at a discount, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May. At the time, the company hoped to close only 10 stores considered to be underperforming and come out of its bankruptcy a stronger, more stable business by the end of August."

This doesn't sound good for the chain which began in the 50s in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I know I will miss checking out the merch. In addition, NPR reported "Last week, Christmas Tree Shops decided to default on its loan of $45 million, which was used to keep its retaining 72 stores afloat, due to worsening finances, The Wall Street Journal reported. The chain is expected to liquidate its remaining stores unless a buyer emerges within the next week, according to the news outlet."
