Two New Jersey Cities Are Among The Dirtiest In America
It's one of those lists you do not want to be on, America's "dirtiest" list. LawnStarter ranked 2024's "Dirtiest Cities in America". According to the organization "This year, we expanded the scope of our study to encompass over 300 of the biggest U.S. cities based on 4 categories. More specifically, we considered air pollution, water quality, waste management, and resident dissatisfaction levels, among 21 total metrics."
The Top 10 "dirtiest" cities in America:
- San Bernardino, CA
- Detroit, MI
- Reading, PA
- Newark, NJ
- Ontario, CA
- Phoenix, AZ
- Trenton, NJ
- Las Vegas, NV
- Houston, TX
- Baytown, TX
Two New Jersey cities made the list Newark and Trenton. Only New Jersey, California, and Texas had 2 cities that made the Top 10. According to the survey "America's Dirtiest Cities aren't necessarily full of litterbugs - cities like San Bernardino, California (No. 1), and Detroit, (No. 2), primarily deal with polluted air, high levels of greenhouse gas emissions, and records of drinking water violations."
On the other side of the coin, here are the "cleanest" cities in America:
- Lynchburg, VA
- Duluth, MN
- Redwood, CA
- Pleasanton, CA
- Wilmington, NC
- Roanoke, VA
- Sioux City, IA
- Des Moines, IA
- Fayetteville, AR
- Bellevue, WA
Unfortunately, no cities in New Jersey made the "cleanest" list. How do you feel about your town? Please tell us what you think about the town you live in, in New Jersey. Post your comments below. Do you give your town a thumbs up or thumbs down?
We look forward to reading your perspective.
