Toms River's Red Carpet Inn on Water Street has been a source of headaches for quite some time. But after the Township bought the building late last year, the property was on borrowed time.

Since then, the beginning stages of dismantling the structure have been progressing, and it's finally time to bring it down.

According to a press release from Toms River Township, this Thursday, July 18th, Township officials will gather for the official demolition of the building.

Following the demolition, the press release points out that, "plans include creating a berm that will protect the downtown area from flooding."
