The Parkway Is Packed As Labor Day Traffic Builds
The cars were all going south on Friday as we headed into the final holiday weekend of summer 2019.
It's the opposite today, with weekenders flocking to the Garden State Parkway north to head back home.
As of this writing, the most congestion is northbound through Toms River and Brick, with estimates from live traffic app Waze putting the pace under 20 miles per hour:
So, basically, if you have to get around Ocean County this afternoon and evening, avoid the Parkway, which is sure to get worse before it gets better.
