The New Jersey Festival of Ballooning has definitely been through it over the last 6 months.

Back on December 13th of last year, we told you about the fact that the nearly 40-year tradition might not happen in 2020 because of a lack of a title sponsor.

Then, two months to the day later, word came out that a new title sponsor was secured and the family favorite event would go on as planned this July.

Oddly, it was another month to the day once again after that, that President Trump declared a national emergency due to the COVID-19 coronavirus, and everything in 2020 got thrown into uncertainty.

While I'm happy to share that the Festival of Ballooning now has a new date for this coming fall, I do kind of wish that the announcement was made a week ago on May 13th so we could keep the tradition going, but I digress.

In a Wednesday announcement, festival officials revealed the rescheduled dates of October 16th - 18th, 2020.

As always, the balloons will take off from Solberg Airport in Readington (Hunterdon County) over the course of the three days.

If you think about it, the new dates could actually be even better, the fall foliage in North Jersey should be popping in mid-October.

Here's the announcement with all the details you need to know from the Festival of Ballooning's official Facebook page:
