New Jersey's annual Festival of Ballooning has been filling the state's northern sky with colorful hot air balloons for nearly a generation.

But, the much loved tradition may not happen in 2020 for the first time in nearly 30 years.

As WOBM News reported earlier this week, the festival, which has been sponsored by QuickChek for the last 27 years, is without a sponsor as of this writing after QuickChek pulled out.

Back in October, QuickChek announced that they would be ending their sponsorship of North America's largest hot air balloon festival, saying:

We’re proud of the role we’ve played but as we focus on our new stores, the time is right for someone else to enjoy the success we’ve had as its title sponsor.

As of right now, the festival is still on the calendar for July 24 - 26, 2020 at Solberg Airport in Readington, but if a title sponsor (or sponsors) doesn't step forward between now and then, the balloons could remain grounded in 2020.

We'll keep you updated either way.
