The 2018 Ocean County Mascot Madness Champion Is…
It started with 18 Ocean County high school mascots.
4 rounds and thousands of votes later, we have our 2018 Mascot Madness champion, and it's:
Congratulations to the Toms River North Mariners!
It felt like 2018 was a year of destiny for the Mariners, as the Toms River East Raiders won the inaugural title in 2016 and the Toms River South Indians won the 2nd annual championship last year.
Not content to watch their cross-town rivals bask in the glow of having the best mascots in Ocean County, the Mariners roared to the front of the pack this year and never looked back.
For some context on how badly the Mariners wanted it, here's what the final vote between TR North and the Brick Township Green Dragons looked like:
It was a no-doubter.
There's no room for debate, no need for an umpire review, the Mariners wanted it more and they sure got it.
So, our congratulations to the Toms River North Mariners, the 2018 Ocean County Mascot Madness champions!
Now, we turn our attention to the all-shore championship! Our sister station, 94.3 The Point just announced the Howell Rebels as the winners of Monmouth County Mascot Madness. So the time has come to prove once again that Ocean County will come together to prove that we rule the Shore!
Vote now for the best high school mascot at the whole Shore above.
In this all-shore championship round, you can vote once every 6 hours from now until next Monday, April 9th at Noon!
