You'll probably be up late tonight anyway finishing those last minute taxes, so take a few minutes to step outside for a somewhat rare celestial event. Tonight (well, actually early tomorrow morning), there will be a "blood moon" lunar eclipse.

It's called a "blood moon" these days because it takes on a rusty red color.

Of course this is all weather permitting. As I type right now, it's somewhat overcast, but hopefully we'll be able to get at least a glimpse for part of it when it starts at 2am.

The good news thought - this is actually the first of four lunar eclipses over the next year and a half. Your next chance to catch one will be in October.

If you stay up and catch any good pictures, send them my way and I'll post them in an upcoming gallery!
