Parkway Travel Alert Take 2 – Toms River Ramp To Close On Friday

Stop me if you've heard this before.

It was a week ago today that we passed along the notice that water main work would close a busy Ocean County Garden State Parkway on-ramp for the weekend.

It was a week ago tomorrow that we passed along the notice that they weren't going to close the ramp for the weekend.

We're going to try it all over again this week with the latest update from Suez.

In a Thursday (October 24th) press release, Suez says that the Lakehurst Road Parkway on-ramp (at Exit 81) in Toms River will close from Friday at 8 p.m. until Sunday (October 27th) at 5 a.m.

They do note that the project is weather permitting, so it could always get shelved again if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.

So, for now, if you get on the Parkway southbound at Lakehurst Road in Toms River, you'll want to make alternate plans for at least Friday night and Saturday.
