There's been a big change at one of Ocean County's busiest intersections with the right turn from Fischer Boulevard onto Hooper Avenue becoming a "no turn on red" intersection.

Previously, you could make a right turn onto Hooper from Fischer if you were in the right lane and had come to a complete stop first, as you can see in this old photo from Google Maps:

But with the change that you can see here on an OC Scanner News photo, you now can't turn right on red, but the updated traffic pattern now includes two right turn lanes.

It's a busy intersection that brings together a pair of Toms River's most heavily traveled roads only yards away from the equally busy Ocean County College entrance.

What do you think, will the Fischer & Hooper intersection be safer and easier to travel with the addition of a second turning lane but with the removal of being able to turn right on red?
