It is always sad when you hear the loss of a child and Ocean County received some bad news this past weekend for one family in Manahawkin. The Nork family from Stafford Township recently found out their 9 year old Parker was diagnosed with B-Cell leukemia. Parker was very involved in sports locally and loved playing lacrosse...as a member of his Stafford team and for the Toms River Blackhawks (Goalie).

Patients diagnosed with B-Cell leukemia have a high rate of survival with treatment and the Nork's were hoping for the best.

This past Friday, March 10th Parker was rushed to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia and on Saturday he passed away. Our sincere condolences and prayers to his family. There is a GO FUND ME page to help with mounting medical bills..... if you'd like to help. Friends and family gathered Sunday to host a vigil ... according to a recent article by Tap Into Stafford/LBI

As a Parent of two, I can only imagine that there is no greater loss then that of a child and a story like this hits every Parent right in their heart.

Be sure to give your kids a hug today!
